Caroline McCoy is a dedicated advocate for racial justice, driven by a vision of a world where everyone has the power, resources, and opportunities to thrive. Born in Kenya and raised in the U.S., she has committed her career to advancing equity, with a focus on channeling resources to Black and Brown communities. Caroline’s work is guided by strategies led by those directly impacted, ensuring that their voices shape the solutions.
As the former Vice President of Programs at Woods Fund Chicago, Caroline led initiatives that promoted racial equity and economic justice through strategic grantmaking. Her prior roles include Program Officer at the Robert R. McCormick Foundation, where she led investment strategies in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood, and Associate Director at Arabella Advisors, where she supported philanthropists in achieving meaningful impact.
Caroline holds a BA in political science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MS in public service management from DePaul University. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and chairs the Social Justice Committee for Chicago African Americans in Philanthropy. Caroline loves to travel, listen to good music, and is always on the lookout for great food.
