Chris Olin grew up in Chicago and moved West to study Economics at Stanford. After college, he settled in the Bay Area to spend a decade working in software startups in product management and marketing. In 2004, he accepted an offer from his father-in-law to help restructure his share of a large family business that was being liquidated. In 2013, he coordinated the strategic planning, creation, and staffing of a new family business office: Tao Capital Partners. At Tao, Chris contributed to the design of the investment program including a captive VC fund, tax and estate planning, governance, IT, security, and philanthropic operations. Chris served on the board of the Center for Environmental Health in Oakland for six years including two years as board chair. Chris continues to serve in an oversight role at Tao Capital while focusing most of his time on philanthropic efforts in the areas of mindfulness, environmental health, economic justice, and experiential education. Chris and his wife, Regan, live in San Francisco with their three teenage children. Chris loves jogs in the park, hikes in the woods, yoga and meditation anywhere, and fixing anything that needs fixing.
