Claire Raffel’s bio for the DAF Commons, of which she is a co-founder, says “Always looking for ways to make bad puns using the ‘AF’ in DAF.” That pretty much sums it up!
For a more traditional take on her bio, Claire is a social impact leader and organizer with more than twenty years of experience building equitable, collaborative, community-centered initiatives. She co-founded the Collective Climate Justice Fund (CCJF), a community of donor advised fund (DAF) holders investing DAF capital in a just energy transition. Claire also co-founded and co-leads the DAF Commons, a peer community by and for DAF holders who want to do more good with their DAF dollars. She currently serves as a board member of Spring Street Climate Action. Her career has encompassed leadership roles across food systems, public policy, and social ventures, including Deputy Director of the Laurie M. Tisch Center for Food, Education & Policy and Executive Director of Wasatch Community Gardens. Claire lives in New York City with her husband and the youngest of their three kids.
