Cohort Year: Cohort 8 (2024-2025)

Country: United States

Affiliation: Imaginable Futures

City / State: Oakland, CA

Enyi Okebugwu (he/him) serves as an Investment Principal at Imaginable Futures, where he catalyzes systemic change in US early childhood and postsecondary education fields via investments and partnerships. His portfolio spans for-profit and non-profit organizations across several impact levers, including direct service, innovation, research, narrative change, movement building, advocacy, and policy. His journey in philanthropy centers around shifting the education system so that marginalized individuals, families, and communities can freely move towards the future they envision for themselves and their tribes.

Prior to Imaginable Futures, he worked on the investment team at Village Capital and was an Impact Fellow with New Globe, where he drove the development process for New Globe’s first cohort of primary schools in Nigeria. Enyi began his career by founding a social enterprise, Legendary Tutors, focused on high-quality test prep and college admissions support for underresourced high school students.

Originally from Nigeria and raised in Chicago, Enyi now lives in Oakland with his partner Jurema and his son Kesan.

Enyi holds an MBA from Yale School of Management and a BA in Neurobiology from Harvard College. He currently serves as a board observer and advisor for several organizations, including ParentPowered, Promise Venture Studio, and Upswing.
