Erik is the co-founder of SK2 Fund, a family-run foundation with a mission of accelerating transition to a more equitable and sustainable world. SK2 utilizes integrated capital strategies to support and invest in underserved social and environmental entrepreneurs, both international and domestic. He also serves on the board of a sister foundation, the Arthur B. Schultz Foundation, supporting transformational educational and economic opportunities for disadvantaged women and persons with disabilities.
Erik believes in a more compassionate brand of grassroots capitalism that harnesses the energy of the free market coupled with social and environmental responsibility. He also advocates for philanthropic peers to align deployment of their financial resources with their missions and values. Both SK2 Fund and the Arthur B. Schultz Foundation are deep into a process of investing 100% of their endowments in direct support of their missions and other values-aligned, progressive social and environmental initiatives. Both foundations are committed to a full spend down and redistribution of their resources over the next 20 years.
Erik makes his home in Idaho’s Rocky Mountains, spending most of his free time nordic skiing in winter and whitewater rafting in the summer.
