Jessica McAleese is an organic farmer, wild earth enthusiast, and co-conspirator of Swift River Farm, an organic vegetable and seed farm nestled in Salmon, Idaho. When not knee deep in veggies or covered in soil and sunshine, she can be found seeking out projects that support ecological, social and economic resilience.
Alongside her farming endeavors, she serves as a grower/owner and Board member of the Snake River Seed Cooperative, which works to preserve seed diversity and regionally adapted seed in the Intermountain West, and she is actively involved in a wide variety of grassroots projects in the region.
Driven by joyful curiosity and a desire to connect, nourish and transform through collective action and co-creation, Jessica brings her passion for healthy food systems and dismantling extractive systems to a broader role as the Sustainable Agriculture Officer at SK2 Fund, a private foundation committed to using creative capital to accelerate transition to a more equitable and sustainable world.
Committed to the re-wilding of ourselves and our landscapes, Jessica finds quite a lot of hope tucked into each and every seed, conversation and opportunity to build relationships and community as we continue to shift the ways in which we participate on this planet.
