Country: United States

Affiliation: Real Estate and Land Justice Consultant

Jodi Callender is an accomplished strategy, operations, and program leader with more than 15 years of experience. As the Principal and Founder of her advisory practice, she partners with foundations, funds, nonprofits, and social enterprises to design growth strategies, structure equity-focused development deals, and steward capital initiatives. Guided by the belief that organizations can—and must—align innovation with equity, Jodi specializes in helping leaders translate bold visions into practical, measurable outcomes for the communities they serve.

Much of Jodi’s career has focused on addressing disinvestment in marginalized communities and supporting community benefit ventures. She played a central role in advancing New York City’s efforts to preserve public housing, expand broadband access, and deliver affordable housing as Senior Advisor to the Deputy Mayor for Housing & Economic Development and Chief of Staff within NYCEDC’s Real Estate division. At WeWork and Gitcoin, she helped leadership navigate moments of rapid growth and transition, scaling operations and guiding strategic pivots.

Jodi is passionate about leveraging her background in real estate, social equity, and economic development to instigate systemic change that builds power and well-being. She is a two-time alumnus of Georgetown University, where she studied Finance as an undergraduate and Real Estate Development and Finance as a graduate student. A proud Bed-Stuy resident, she enjoys reading futurism novels, cooking ambitious meals, and strolling through neighborhood playgrounds with her son and husband.
