Katherine is a social justice attorney working to create a more just and inclusive economy, focusing on growing the Ownership Economy. She is the Director of Partnerships & Capital Mobilization Initiatives at the Ownership Capital Lab, an organization that works to move capital into Employee-Ownership to address structural inequality in the United States. Katherine is also a proud member of the Board of the The California Wellness Foundation, whose mission is to protect and improve the health and wellness of the people of California by increasing access to health care, quality education, good jobs, healthy environments and safe neighborhoods. Prior to the Ownership Capital Lab, Katherine spent three years as the Justice Policy Lead for the Yurok Tribe, where she worked on strategies to end the crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous People. Prior, Katherine was the founding executive director of Root & Rebound, where she worked to advance social and economic inclusion for people impacted by mass incarceration. Much of this work was focused on economic inclusion, working to reduce barriers to employment, housing, and economic opportunity.
Katherine received her B.A in Anthropology from Columbia University and her J.D. from UC Berkeley School of Law. She is an attorney licensed to practice in California. Katherine lives in Berkeley with her husband, three children, dog and (very old) cat, and enjoys, more than anything, time with them in nature.
