Mariah McPherson is the Executive Director of the New Belgium Family Foundation. The New Belgium Family Foundation honors the values of environmental stewardship and social responsibility that led to the success of New Belgium Brewing, and was formed after the business became 100% employee owned in 2012. Mariah’s background is in sustainable investment research, shareholder activism, and non-profit/small business financial management. She has also tried her hand at organic farming, starting a farm-to-table catering business, and designing sewing patterns. She earned her BA in International Studies and Environmental Studies at Colby College in Waterville, ME. Mariah was born and raised in Colorado, where she now lives with her husband and two young children. She is driven by a desire to restore balance between humans and the natural world so that her kids have a nice planet to inhabit as they grow up. In addition to directing a foundation and a household, Mariah enjoys yoga, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, and making stuff with her hands.
