Ryan works with asset owners on impact investment strategy and execution, social entrepreneurs across many areas, and supports ecosystem development to catalyze and scale mission-driven capital deployment. She is passionate about harnessing financial tools, deploying money and innovating markets for social and environmental justice.
Ryan is an investment professional with over fifteen years of global experience, having worked at institutional asset managers including the reinsurer Swiss Re, fund-of-funds Man Group plc, a multi-billion family office in Switzerland, and the UK’s development finance institution CDC Group plc. Ryan has also worked with early-stage impact investment fund managers, social ventures, foundations, CDFIs and non-profit sector partners. Throughout her career Ryan has covered public and private market strategies in both developed and emerging markets. She has sector experience in environmental markets/conservation, education, agriculture and microfinance.
Ryan graduated from the Huntsman Program in International Studies & Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 2001 where she specialized in Public Policy & Management and French, and studied abroad in St. Louis, Sénégal. In 2013 she completed the Oxford Impact Investing Programme at the Saïd School of Business. In 2017 she became part of the inaugural cohort of Integrated Capital Fellows, a program launched by RSF Social Finance.
Ryan grew up in the Rocky Mountains near Boulder, Colorado and has lived in Japan, France, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. She lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico and works and travels throughout the Mountain West.
