Ana Ramos is constantly radically reimagining a better world for everyone. Her passion for equitable and sustainable economic development has been a driving force throughout her adult life.
In her role at Common Future as Manager of Capital Strategies, Ana is a core contributor and support to the development and structuring of pilot products and innovative initiatives, specifically around impact investment capital that has the potential to transform the field. Prior to this role, Ana was the Manager of Programs and Grantmaking for Common Future, where she led the execution of grants management and coordination processes and ensured that the right people were connecting at the right time.
In her previous roles at The Food Trust, she worked closely with entrepreneurs in Camden, New Jersey leading a small retailer initiative. By the time of her departure, Ana had secured a partnership with a local CDFI and a cooperative development agency to support a subset of retailers with access to capital to form their own cooperative. In addition, she managed the Pennsylvania Fresh Food Financing Initiative, a statewide public-private program that invests in new or expanding grocery stores and other healthy food retail outlets. In other roles at The Food Trust, Ana worked on a bi-national healthy food initiative in the Paso del Norte Region (which includes El Paso, Texas, and Juarez, Mexico). As a daughter of entrepreneurs (and a social entrepreneur herself), she knows firsthand the impact these initiatives can have on our communities.
Ana holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Temple University’s Fox School of Business and Management and is deeply rooted in the Philadelphia community. Still, she is a true Caribbean at heart. Originally from the Dominican Republic, she is blessed to visit the islands often. When not at work, you can find her working on her social enterprise, Colectiva Clara, crafting, going on long walks in her neighborhood, dancing at home with her partner, cooking/eating, and playing and learning with her daughter/bestie.
