Jamie Dean is Director of Impact Investments at The Schmidt Family Foundation. Before shifting to a focus on impact investing, she led grantmaking on renewable energy, climate, and clean transportation at The 11th Hour Project and built out an agriculture and climate portfolio at the David and Lucile Packard Foundation. She also has direct experience in efforts promoting sustainable sourcing from her time at Fairtrade USA, and through consulting projects focused on sustainable seafood. Jamie serves as a board member at Puente a la Salud Comunitaria, which focuses on food sovereignty in Oaxaca, Mexico. She has an MBA from the Haas School of Business and an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies from UCLA. In her free time, she obsesses about how to curb plastic use and pollution and how to reduce emissions from the transportation sector.
